Minneapolis Design Project

August 22, 2008

One of the projects we are currently working on is a residence in Minneapolis; a chartreuse house with a bit of a midwestern farm aesthetic.  The design is very geometric and minimal in its plant palette.   This phase of the project consists of a patio made of concrete pavers set within a grove of birch trees.  Their dog is below… painfully cute.

The following set of pictures show the home before the project began through the end of phase one.  We can’t wait to see the whole thing finished!

    Hi there!

Love your work. Quick question though…do you make the concrete pavers in the bottom two photos custom or can they be purchased? I am having a heck of a time finding a source for 24″ square pavers like those!

    Wish you were in CA!

    • Hey, Thanks.

We get the concrete pavers locally at a stone and masonry wholesale and retail place. There must be a source for you in CA. I find a lot of 2’x2′ exposed aggregate pavers or stamped and colored pavers. I know, probably not the look you’re going for but you could look at using them upside down. They are usually just plain concrete on the bottom. Another option is to frame up a grid and pour the pavers in place.

      Good Luck
